Free Events in LA

Notting Hill

There are plenty of free events in LA, but sometimes you have to look high and low to find them. Eat|See|Hear has made it easy with an incredible evening of good food, live music and a movie on Saturday, June 14.

Hosted by Air New Zealand, Saturday’s British-themed event will take us across the pond as we swoon over Hugh Grant in “Notting Hill.” One lucky movie-goer will win a free Premium Economy Spaceseat™ trip for two to London courtesy of Air New Zealand! While you’re flying, they’ll make sure you Arrive London Ready!

General admission to the event is totally free, and includes the music performance and movie showing. Keep in mind that food offered at the food trucks will not be free, so don’t leave your wallets at home! Entrance is on a first come, first served basis.

This event will be at the Memorial Greek Amphitheater at Santa Monica High School. This venue has built-in concrete seating so bring blankets, pillows or cushions for comfort. There is a small grassy area, so arrive early if you want to snag that sweet spot for sprawling out on a blanket!

Keep in mind that previous events at Santa Monica High School have sold out because the built-in seating also means there’s limited seating available. While you can register in advance online, that doesn’t guarantee or reserve you a seat so arrive early to stake out your spot.

Parking is available across the street in the Civic Center parking lot for a fee. You might also find street parking but remember to pay attention to signs so you don’t end up being ticketed or towed. There’s only one entrance to the event, on 4th Street between the DoubleTree Hotel and the school’s athletic track. There’s plenty of places to park your bike if you’d rather arrive on two wheels. As always, Saturday’s event is also open to four-legged friends so bring your pet and get a doggie biscuit at the door!

Doors will open at 5:00 p.m. and a live performance by Liphemra will begin at 7:00. We’ll start “Notting Hill” at 8. Mark your calendar now — don’t miss this awesome free event in LA!
