4th of July Los Angeles 2014

This year, Independence Day falls on a Friday which grants us all a long weekend for celebrating all things America. But this weekend, we’re not just talking about apple pie, baseball, Chevrolet and hotdogs. On Saturday, July 5, we’re hosting a celebration with the film that defined modern American cinema — Jaws. Join us at The Autry in Griffith Park at 5:30PM for an evening full of food, good music and the man-eating great white shark that has captivated our country since 1975.

The Autry has a gorgeous and expansive lawn, so bring blankets and sprawl out to enjoy the evening’s festivities. As with all Eat|See|Hear events in LA, this one is dog-friendly so bring your pooches and pals along for the fun — they’ll even be greeted at the door with a free biscuit!

Arrive early to stake out your spot and kick off the evening with a smorgasbord of delicious goods from food trucks including The Greasy Wiener, Haute Burger, Canvas, Boba Ni Taco, Mandoline Grill, Oh My Gaga, Hurricane Truck, Creasian, Say Fish Taco, Sweet Arleen’s, Coolhaus, Brasil Kiss and more!

Two of LA’s up-and-coming bands will be joining us. Bird Concerns will get things warmed up followed by a performance by buzzband King Washington at 7PM. They’ll both provide a rocking performance sure to amp up your adrenaline just in time for the main event. The movie will start at 8:30PM and will be shown on the largest outdoor movie screen west of the Mississippi so you’ll never miss that sneaky shark fin creeping through the water!

The entrance to the event is on the lawn adjacent to the Autry Museum Building. There’s FREE parking for this event available across the street at the LA Zoo too! If you’d rather arrive on two wheels, plenty of bicycle parking is also available.

The Autry is located at 4700 Western Heritage Way in Los Angeles. Tickets are $10 in advance and just $8 for kids 12 and under, and are also available to purchase at the door on the day of the event for $12 (cash or credit). Even though the Autry is an expansive venue, we do recommend purchasing tickets in advance on Eventbrite to make sure you’re not turned away.

Make sure you give yourself some time to browse through the Autry’s galleries and participate in a photo mission for the evening to win prizes. Details will be distributed upon entering the event.  All Eat|See|Hear attendees get to enjoy the museums galleries for free from 5:30-8pm!
