This Saturday, July 20, 2013, we are showing the awesome Eddie Murphy movie Coming to America at Santa Monica High School (601 Pico Blvd, Santa Monica, CA 90405). This is such a funny movie, and we’re sure that there is a good bit of the younger crowd that has never seen it, so bring the whole family!
The Santa Monica outdoor movie starts at 8:30 pm, but come early to get a good spot, grab some tasty food, and hear some fantastic, live, local music. Vum, an indie-pop-noire group, will go on stage at 7. Doors open at 5:30, so be sure to come around then to get first dibs on the best seats and to beat the lines for the food trucks!
You can read more about Vum and listen to a few songs at http://vummusic.com/. Vum is the Los Angeles indie-pop band made up of Jennifer Pearl, on guitar and vocals; Christopher Badger, on the drum machine; and Scott Spaulding and Mike Zilla on the live drums.
There will be a few tickets for sale at the door, but we strongly encourage you to order them online at http://comingtoamericasamo-eorg.eventbrite.com/. General admission tickets are $10 ($8 for kids under 12), and popchips-sponsored premium seating tickets are $20.
The following food trucks will be on site:
Buttermilk Truck, offering homemade breakfast for dinner.
Ludo Bites, serving fried chicken dishes by the award winning Chef Ludo.
MacOlicious, dishing up some of the greatest mac ‘n’ cheese in town.
MOEggrolls, serving eggroll-style sandwiches with traditional deli fixings like pastrami.
Uncle Lau’s BBQ, bringing Hawaiian barbeque and burgers to Southern California.
Slap Yo Mama, serving soul food like alligator, po’ boys and gumbo.
Coolhaus, serving ice cream and cookies.
Brasil Kiss, serving direct-trade Brazilian coffee and Brazilian street food.
Sweet Wheels, offering sweet treats like beignets and cake drops.
Join us Saturday for our Santa Monica outdoor movie! You won’t want to miss it!
